So its a looong evening and youre hungry. Ooh there are some pizza
left overs...but wait! You better watch those inches! Treat yourself
with a sandwich using one of our spreads...
Hummus
spread on sliced turkey breast is delicious. Roasted red pepper
or lemon basil hummus is a personal favorite.
Speaking
of turkey, mix good ol' plain-Jane low-fat mayo with a little cranberry
sauce for a sweet spread with turkey or chicken breast.
A schmear
of basil and garlic flavored soft goat cheese is a crowd-pleaser
on roast beef sandwiches. (A tablespoon of goat cheese has only
25 calories and 2 grams of fat.)
Dried cranberries
mixed into honey-flavored mustard spreads sweetness and a spicy
kick onto a turkey sandwich.
Pepper
jelly (you can find this in specialty shops) or a sweet relish are
super mixed with flaked tuna! The tuna salad will be so moist that
you won't even need the mayo.
For a yummy
salmon salad sandwich, skip the mayo altogether and mix canned salmon
with low-fat ranch salad dressing.
A hot and
spicy salsa will make any pita salad sandwich hot! It's especially
yummy spooned into a pita that's stuffed with tossed salad and low-fat
cheddar cheese.
